Doris E. Cusick

Doris E. Cusick, 85, of Abilene was called home to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior on Thursday February 18, 2010. Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, February 20th, at the Piersall Benton Chapel 733 Butternut St. in Abilene. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday the 19th at the funeral home.


Doris was born in Callahan County on October 12th, 1924 to Lloyd W. Barr Sr. and Annie Mae Jones Barr. She was a graduate of Eula High School where she played basketball .She moved to Abilene in 1942 and married Robert Cusick. Doris worked for Greyhound Bus Lines as a ticket agent for 33 years.


Doris was preceded in death by her parents and husband.


Doris will be lovingly remembered by her 2 daughters; Karen St. Pierre and husband Terry of Abilene, Shirley Bales and her husband Ron of Round Rock, Texas. She is also survived by her 6 brothers Lloyd Barr, Jr,Grady Barr, Marion Barr, Don Barr, Bill Barr and Kenneth Barr and 3 sisters Erma Kemper, Cathron Bennett and Barbara Cullen. In addition, she is survived by 3 grandsons whom she adored, Greg Tanner, Chris Tanner and Jason St. Pierre.
