Nelta Jean Scott West Sellers, 68, of Abilene, Texas, passed away Sunday, February. 14, 2010 and was carried away by the angels to be with Jesus in Paradise. Services will be Tuesday, February 16, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the Baker Heights Church of Christ; main assembly room .Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial, Abilene, Texas. Jean was a member of this congregation since 1968. Arrangements are under the direction of Piersall-Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Nelta Jean Scott was born in Rosebud, Falls County, Texas on Monday, October 13, 1941 at 7:58 p.m., the daughter of Theo Franklin Scott and Maggie Mae McHood. Jean lived in Abilene for 49 years. She was an active, vibrant Christian who loved serving others in many ways – through church and community service. Jean worked at Rita Barber for many years. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband of 43 years, Albert Ray West, by two brothers, Robert Sidney Scott & Glenn Leroy Scott-Hamilton; one sister, Lela Ozell Scott; and grandson, Thomas Joshua West.
“Jean” is survived by: Her husband, Roger Sellers of Abilene, a son, Nathan West, and wife Kay of Cisco, a daughter Sherry Carmona and husband Ed of Magnolia, grandson Michael Thompson and wife Shana of Aledo. Grand daughters: Regina Fenwick and husband Gordon of Winters, Rebekah Praschnik and husband Paul of Pantego, N.C. Great grandchildren: Timothy Fenwick of Midland, Justin Fenwick of Winters, and Corey Fenwick of San Angelo, Katie Thompson, Jordan Thompson, and Ryan Thompson of Aledo, Hayden and Avery Praschnik of Pantego, N.C. Amanda McNatt and husband Greg of Austin. Great-great granddaughter Ariah Fenwick of Winters, Texas and brother Theo Scott, Jr., of Anson, Texas; and sister Deborah Navarro and husband Larry of Anson. Pallbearers will be Henry West, Richard Bryan, Jack Hadlock, Larry Taylor, Richard Bower and Raymond Roberson.
