Wesley Raymond Hamer, age 44, passed from this world in Granbury, Texas on November 11, 2009. A service is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Piersall-Benton Funeral Chapel, 733 Butternut Street. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 13th at the funeral home.
Wes was born in Aurora, Colorado on August 17, 1965 and has lived in Abilene for 30 years. He moved to Abilene when he was 14 years old where he attended and graduated from Abilene High School. He served in the U. S. Army and married Gari Sue Maynard in 1991.
He became an L.V.N. and worked in home health care where his specialty was wound care and served hundreds of patients in Abilene and surrounding areas for 18 years. His last employer was Outreach Health Services of Abilene. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by two sons, E4 Specialist Zachary Levi and wife Courtney and Wesley Wade and one daughter, Kamarin Faith of Granbury, his mother Gayla Ramey of Lake, Michigan, his father Marvin Hamer and three brothers, Mikel and wife Jennifer, Donald and wife Corrie and Joey of Abilene and one sister, Evangeline and husband Lewis Arocho of Charlotte, North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.
