Manuel De La Cruz

June 19, 1930 — November 8, 2009

Manuel M. De La Cruz, Sr. 79 of Trent, passed away Sunday November 8th, 2009 at Hendrick Medical Center. A service is scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday November 11, 2009 at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with Father Terry Brennon officiating. A time of visitation is scheduled for 6:00pm on Tuesday with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm.

Manuel De La Cruz was born on June 19, 1930 to Faustino and Alejandra De La Cruz in Wichita Falls, Texas. Manuel was a farmer and rancher most of his life and a Master Gardner. He enjoyed dancing, playing guitar and BBQ'ing for family and friends. He was always willing to help a neighbor in need. Manuel was a great Dad, Grandpa, Husband, Brother and friend. He lived a great, full life and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 49 years Abundia De La Cruz, and two brothers Amador and Jose Maria "Chema" De La Cruz. He is survived by his wife Petra De La Cruz, daughters Alejarda "Allie" and husband Alfred Longoria of Hawley, TX and Veronica Estrada and Husband Raul "Roy" Jr. of Abilene, four sons; Manuel De La Cruz Jr. and wife Diana of Abilene, Michael De La Cruz and wife Brenda of Weatherford, TX, Adam De La Cruz and wife Maria Theresa of Vernon, and Simon De La Cruz and wife Estella of Abilene, step-children; Manuel and Laura Gauna of Abilene, Bernardo Valero of Trent, TX, Vincente Valero, Carlos Valero and wife Sheryl, Lucinda Arizpe, Chavelo Valero and wife Rosemary all of Abilene and Veronica Carrillo of San Antonio, a sister, Mary Hill of Wichita, KS and a brother Epolito "Paul" De La Cruz and wife Virginia of Abilene, TX, 34 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members and close friends.

The family would like to thank Hendrick House Calls for their support and especially Hendrick Hospice for their caring and compassionate hearts.
