Louise Johnson

February 17, 1932 — April 1, 2017

Billie Louise Johnson, 85, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017.  A service is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St., with a graveside service to follow in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery.

Louise was born on February 17, 1932, in Electra, Texas, to Sidney and Netta Jackson Landrum.  She attended high school and junior college in Odessa, married Don Courtland Johnson in 1950, and gave birth in 1952 to her daughter Donna. In 1962, she and her family moved to Houston where Louise served as a secretary for the  Sharpstown Church of Christ for 15 years.

In 1985, Louise moved to Abilene to be closer to her daughter and family.  She loved sewing, crocheting, and yard work, but her passion was keeping up with family on social media and going to visit them where they live in Texas and Georgia.

Surviving Louise are her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Curby Riley, of Abilene; a brother, John Landrum, and wife Mary; grandchildren, Sarah Hustwit, Rebekah Raffield, Cory Tupin, Jennifer Martin, and Joshua Fickel; and great-grandchildren, Lily and Weston Raffield, Kaydie Martin, Ava and Anna Tupin and Skyler Fortner; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.  Preceding her in death were her husband Don; her parents; her brothers, Sid, Joe, Burt, and Bobby Landrum; and her sister, Lynda Flory.
