Terrie Morton

Terrie Morton, 58, of Abilene, Texas, passed away August 19, 2009 at a local care center. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Friday August 21st at the Piersall Benton Funeral Home located at 733 Butternut Street.

Terrie was born on November 20th 1950 in Kokomo, Indiana to Onis and Alma Boone. She was a graphic designer, and worked in the Skills Development Center at Dyess Air Force Base. Terrie and her family traveled to numerous air base towns throughout the world but in 1987 they moved to Abilene where her husband was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base. After his retirement, they decided to make Abilene their permanent home. Terrie enjoyed working with crafts, knitting, weaving and worked extensively with ceramics. She managed the judging of the crafts section at the Taylor County Fair for two years. She was a great cook and loved to feed and entertain her family.

Terrie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Douglas; a son, Jeff and wife Christal and their children Damon and Alyssa; and a daughter, Jennifer Lavon Dupree and husband Dwayne and their children Debra and Devin. In addition, she is survived by brothers David Boone of Stanford, Ronnie Boone and wife Sally and Michael Boone all of Tucson. Terrie will be missed by her extended family and close friends.
