Betty White

Betty Jo White, 83 of Abilene, received her reward in heaven on January 6, 2017.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Baker Heights Church of Christ.  A visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Betty was born on October 31, 1933 to Raymond and Velma Lee Craig in Tyler, Texas.   She was married to the love of her life, Lynn White, on December 31, 1951 in Abilene.  Betty and Lynn owned a clothing store, Aunt Betty’s Rags, and together, they worked in the retail clothing business for 52 years.  She was a long-time member of Baker Heights Church of Christ.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Velma Craig.  She is survived by her husband, Lynn White of Abilene, daughter, Vicky Mallett of San Diego, California, son Doug White of Dallas, Texas and granddaughter, Kim Berryman of Washington, D.C., plus a large family of cousins and dear friends who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hendrick Hospice Care and ask that donations be made in Betty’s name to the Baker Height Eastreach Zambia Fund at the Baker Height Church of Christ.
