Geraldine Doris Cox

Geraldine (Gerry) Doris Cox, 84 of Abilene, went home to her Lord on January 1, 2017.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 901 Victoria Street, with her son-in-law, Jerry Rollins officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Geraldine was born on December 14, 1932 in Corning, New York to Roderick and Alberta Ayers. She married Fenton Cox in Mansfield, Pennsylvania on February 2, 1952 before making their home in Texas.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Rod and Bill Ayers, sisters Cora Maldona, Dora Bartholomew and Alberta Ayers and half-sister Isabelle Ayers.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fenton Cox; a son, Thomas Cox of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Cathy Rollins and husband Jerry of Nashville, Tennessee; a brother, Tom Ayers of Dallastown, New York; two sisters, Linda Lowery of Canton, Pennsylvania and Eleane Taylor of Bath, New York and six grandchildren; Trey Rollins and wife Kristin of Greenville, South Carolina, Aaron Cox and wife Shirley of Corpus Christi, Tanner Rollins and wife Shelby of Nashville, Tennessee, Brian Cox and wife Andrea of Seattle, Washington, Rachel Cox Thurman and husband Adam of Corpus Christi and Katelyn Rollins Hamby and husband Jonathan of Nashville, Tennessee and seven great-grandchildren.
