Lillian "Imogene" Siburt Filbeck

Lillian Imogene Siburt Filbeck passed away peacefully at her home on August 7, 2009. A service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday August 10th at University Church of Christ with Dr. Eddie Sharp and Bill Young presiding. The burial will follow at 3:30 pm at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas. A visitation will be held at Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St from 4-6 pm on Sunday.

Imogene was born to Z.G. and Callie Elva (Harris) Bailey on May 28, 1918 in Hardeman County, Tennessee. She graduated from High School in Rector, Arkansas and from Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, Tennessee.
After one year of teaching school, she married Charles Austin Siburt, of Moundsville, W.Va., whom she had met in college, and who for forty-five years served as minister for Churches of Christ in Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, New Mexico, Texas, and Minnesota. He preceded her in death in 1985. On June 17, 2000 she married Dr. Orval Filbeck, who passed away on March 29, 2006. In addition, Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Alston Bailey.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elva Devers, of Canyon, TX and Mrs. Jim (Myra) Holmans, of Abilene, TX and by one son, Dr. Charles A. Siburt, Jr and his wife Judy, also of Abilene as well as a sister-in-law Marcelle Bailey of El Dorado, AR, three grandsons, three granddaughters, twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Imogene is also survived by stepchildren, Dr. Jim Filbeck and wife Peggy of Irving, TX, Janice Stone and husband Louis of Richardson, TX, six step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Laura Barber and her nurse Shirley, caregivers Josie Barrera and Marie Wamplou, and Hospice of the Big Country for the wonderful care given to Imogene.
