Janice Lataine Hargrove

Janice Underwood Hargrove, 75 of Abilene, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 12, 2016.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.  A visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors.

Janice was born on December 13, 1940 to Oscar and Grace Underwood in Koscuisko, Mississippi.  Janie retired from the Abilene State School in December of 1995 after 25 years of dedicated service.  She was a volunteer for the Abilene Baptist Social Services Ministries for several years.  Janice was a faithful member of the Faith Baptist Church in Abilene.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.  She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Don Hargrove; her children, Peggy Rice and husband Bart of Hurst, Texas; Ricky Rankin and wife Debbie of Alabaster, Alabama; Missy Stovall of Evansville, Indiana and Cherri Jane McCullough of Hurst, Texas; two sisters, Almertice Aaron and Linda Mueggenborg and two brothers, Frank Underwood and Jackson Mobley; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
