Jonnie Bernice (Bambi) Jud

A dearly beloved aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt, Jonnie Bernice Jud ("Bambi") left this earth and her crippled body to live with Jesus on Wednesday November 23, 2016. Born February 21, 1919, she was the baby sister of Sybil Faubus and Blanche Curbo, and the aunt of Ann and Jack Griggs and Don and Pam Faubus.

While she was born in Summerville, Georgia, she was a resident of Waco, Texas, from the age of nine until November 2011 when she moved to Wesley Court in Abilene, a year after the death of Gene Jud, her marvelous second husband. Bambi and Gene were married 17 fun years. Her first husband, Pete Pederson, another amazing man, was her high school sweetheart whom she married when Pete, a World War II veteran, was home on a three-day furlough during the War. Bambi and Pete were married 47 delightful years.

A woman of exceptional beauty, Southern charm, and grace, she was the epitome of joy. Even after suffering a crippling stroke in July 2012 and never walking again, she continued to fill a room with joy with her beautiful smile. From the time of her stroke until her death, she was loved by her many friends at Wesley Court and cared for around the clock by sweet caregivers from Visiting Angels. Rae Ann Hamilton MD was her wonderful physican. In her final days, Bambi’s family developed a strong sense of appreciation for the added care and comfort provide by Hendrick Hospice of Abilene.

To celebrate her life, friends and family will have lunch together at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 25, 2016, in the Executive Dining Room of Wesley Court, 2617 Antilley Road, Abilene, TX followed by Memorial Celebration with punch and cookies in the Wesley Court Atrium/Library at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th Street, Waco, TX.
