Dwight Rodney Boden

Rodney Boden, 51, of Abilene passed away Saturday June 20th, 2009 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, June 26th at 10:00 am at the Caps Cemetery under the direction of Piersall-Benton Funeral Directors.


Rodney was born May 9th, 1958 to Nick and Arleta Haines Boden in Russell, Kansas. He has lived in Abilene since 1986. Rodney played in a band and loved to write both music and lyrics for the songs they played. He sang and played lead guitar for The Doctor Rock band in Abilene. He was a self employed mechanic.

Rodney is survived by his wife Susan and three step-daughters; Jessica and husband David Clemmer, Shannah and husband Mike Brown and Jennifer all of Abilene. In addition, he is survived by three brothers, Virgil, Randy, and Jeff Boden and nine step-grandchildren.
