Andrea Curiel

Andrea Curiel, 31 of Abilene, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, May 12, 2009.

Andrea was born in Coleman, TX July 1, 1977 to Frank and Ileana Curiel. She attended Anson Jones Elementary, Mann Middle School and graduated from Abilene High in 1995. Andrea graduated from American Commercial College in 1997. She was such a special person who touched the hearts of many. Andrea was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Abilene.

Andrea was a loving mother, a caring Aunt, and a beautiful daughter and sister. But to all who met and knew her, she was a wonderful friend. Her friendly smiles spoke volumes even though her shyness may have kept her words minimal. Those who knew her best know and will remember how full of life she was, how she enjoyed to laugh and joke. She will be greatly missed and that void will not be easily filled. She was devoted to her family and her faith never left her through thick and thin. Her fight was not easily lost, she had been counted out several times and proved doctors wrong each time. Her spirit will remain and live on through those of us who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Mario Jimenez, and paternal grandmother Amparo Curiel; and her sister Sonya Curiel .

She will be greatly missed by her beloved children Isaiah Mirelez, Uriah Mirelez, Josiah Rodriguez of Abilene, mother Ileana M. Curiel of Abilene, and father Frank E. Curiel, of Garland TX, one brother Frank M. Curiel, and two sisters, Amparo Curiel,
and Alicia B. Curiel, all of Abilene. She is also survived by other family members including; Christian Curiel, Rey Curiel, Miraya Curiel, Gabriel Curiel, Sonya Bonita Alexander, Marialena Alexander, Robert Alexander, Iah M. Newman and Terrell Turner II, as well as three nieces, Ashley Gonzalez, Mercedes Curiel, Chandi Curiel, and two great nephews, one great niece, her maternal grandmother Gloria Jimenez of Corpus Christi, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The service for Andrea Curiel will be private. They are under the direction of Piersall Benton Funeral Home, 733 Butternut Street.
