Royce N. Bonner

Royce Nunn Bonner, 76 of Abilene, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at his home after a long battle with cancer. A time of visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Baker Heights Church of Christ, 5382 Texas Ave., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in the church auditorium. Burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Royce was born on September 2, 1939 in Sweetwater, Texas to Storey and Fannie Bonner. He grew up in a large and loving family with two brothers and four sisters.

Royce married the love of his life, Phyllis, on August 11, 1972. Together they built a beautiful and loving life in Abilene, where he always referred to her as sweetheart even when he was upset about something.

Royce was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Storey and Fannie Bonner; one brother, Earl Bonner; one sister, JoAnn Leonard; and two sons, Donnie and David Durham.

Royce is survived by his wife of 44 years, Phyllis; his daughters Pat Black and husband John; Linda Cotton and husband Bruce; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Bonner and three sisters, Margaret Willis and husband Dallas; Reba Renfro and Lila Cox and husband Corkey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Royce had a servant's heart and was a faithful member of Baker Heights Church of Christ.
