Ernestine Linsley Butler

March 8, 1921 — April 24, 2009

Ernestine Linsley Butler, 88 of Abilene, passed away Friday April 24th, 2009. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday April 27th at the Potosi Cemetery with Pastor Clyde Kieschnick officiating, under the direction of Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St.

Ernestine Baker was born on March 8th, 1921 in Stamford, Texas to Ernest Howard Baker and Bessie Lou Bell Adkins. She attended school in Aspermont and she married James "Red" Linsley on March 28, 1937. After their divorce several years later she met and married C.W. Butler and lived at Mabank, Texas. After his death she returned to Abilene to be close to her daughters, Kaye and Gaye Lanham.

She loved her family dearly and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ernestine will be greatly missed by her son Ernest Calvin Linsley (Junior) and his wife Joyce of Orlando, Fl, her daughters; Kaye Lanham and Gaye Lanham and her husband Jim of Abilene, a brother; Howard Baker of Canada, a sister; Lori Wooten of Oklahoma, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents and husbands James “Red” Linsley and C.W. Butler.
