Betty Jean Flynn – Abilene

Betty Jean Flynn, 83 of Abilene, passed away on February 10, 2016 at a local nursing facility. A visitation with the family will be held from 3-4pm Sunday, February the 14th at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St in the Great Room.

Betty was born on February 20, 1932 in Graham, Texas to Roy L. Walker and Lydia Maddox Walker. She was raised in Graham and lived there until she graduated from high school. She moved from Graham to Abilene where she spent much of the remainder of her life. There were a number of things that made Betty unique, her infectious laugh, her ability to make friends with anyone she came into contact with and her undying love of the Cowboys.

Preceding Betty in death were her parents, her husband John O’Hara Flynn, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters Vickie Uber and husband Bill and Lorna Taylor and husband Luke, a sister, Patsy Phagan, four grandchildren; Bryan Uber, Stephanie Roehr, Brandi Taylor and Kristen Taylor, a very special niece Patricia Roberts, as well as two great-grandchildren and other extended family and close friends.
