Lois Mae English

Lois Mae English, 73 of Abilene, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. A visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Lois was born on September 1, 1942 in Rockport, Texas to Archie William and Dorothy Lorene Hammons. Lois married Billy Joe English on December 21, 1957 in Clarendon, Texas and together they raised 4 girls, Pamela, Mary, Darlene and Tammy.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Dorothy Hammons, daughter Sherry Lynn English and grandson Shawn English. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy Joe English; daughters Pamela Lyle and husband Gary of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Mary Chesser and husband Lance of Eula, Texas, Darlene Loomis and husband Rick of Abilene and Tammy Young and husband Raymond of Abilene; sisters Mildred Adams of Borger, Texas and Joyce Couch of Stinnet, Texas, as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Big Country in memory of Lois English.
