ROSEMARY ANNE CRUMBLISS SAUTER, 73, of Abilene, TX, died February 23, 2009, following a lengthy illness. Services are Thursday, February 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Piersall Benton Funeral Home, Abilene, with visitation following the service. Dickie Porsche will officiate, and Mark Crumbliss will assist. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael, Christopher and Mark Crumbliss, Tom Bible, Mark-John Eberhardt, Nick Coates, Kent Herring, Joseph Reed, and Gary White. Burial will be at Alpine Cemetery, Alpine, CA.
Rosie was born April 30, 1935 in Macon, GA to Raymond and Hazel Crumbliss. She grew up in Macon, GA; Toronto, CAN; and Birmingham, AL. As an adult, she lived in Tuscumbia, AL; Albion, ID; La Mesa, CA; and Abilene, TX. She attended Tarrant City High School, Birmingham, AL, and Harding College, Searcy, AR. Rosie spent many years working in the San Diego area as court reporter, paralegal, and office manager. Rosie was a member of the El Cajon Blvd. church of Christ, San Diego, and Highland church of Christ, Abilene. She was well known for her generosity, her beautiful singing voice, and for her culinary talents, all of which were greatly appreciated by her family and friends.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, and by daughter, Melody Rose Sauter. She is survived by a daughter, Mindi Sauter of Hanover, MD; brother, Dr. Jody Crumbliss and wife Mary of Abilene, TX; a sister, Judy Crumbliss of Brentwood, TN; nephews Michael Crumbliss, Christopher Crumbliss (Tiffany), Mark Crumbliss, and Tom Bible (Mindy); niece Rebekah Sidden (Shaun); and beloved great-nieces and nephews, Maya and Elliss Crumbliss; Landon, Logan, and Lauren Bible; and Luke and Wyatt Sidden.
