Birdie Joyce Morgan

Birdie Joyce Morgan, 85, of Abilene passed away at her home on Thursday February 19, 2009. Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday February 21st, 2009 at Piersall Benton Chapel, 733 Butternut St with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation is scheduled for 6:-7:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Birdie was born to John Allen Palmer and Mittie Xuma Richey Palmer on May 13th, 1923 in Uvalde, Texas. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas where she graduated from Brackenridge High School. After graduation she worked in the Civil Service until she met the love of her life Dr. Clyde Morgan. Together they shared nearly 58 years of marriage. Birdie worked with Clyde in the early years of his medical practice.

Birdie will be lovely remembered by her husband Dr. Clyde Morgan; a son, Chip Morgan and wife Marsha of Abilene; two daughters, Reinette Hensley of Abilene and Nancy Davis and husband John of Frisco, Texas, 7 grandchildren and their families; Dana Jaworski and husband Jeff and their son Leif of Anchor Point, AK, Amy Morgan of Fort Worth, Stacey Kingslein and husband Dan and their daughter Madelyn of Round Rock, TX, April Hensley of Evansville, IN, Ryan Davis and wife Mary Beth and their son Jackson of Sugar Land, TX, Leah Davis of Hawaii, and Morgan Davis of Abilene as well as one sister Wilma Fowler of New Braunfels, TX. Birdie was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and one brother.
