Rickey D. Fisher, Sr.

Rickey D. Fisher 57, of Albany passed away Saturday, February 14th, 2009 at Hendrick Medical Center. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 17th, 2009 at the Albany City Cemetery under the direction of Piersall Benton Funeral Directors of Abilene. A visitation will be held at Morehart Mortuary in Albany on Monday from 6-8 pm.


Rickey was born on September 14th, 1951 to Jerry and Mary Nell Fisher in Gorman, TX. He was raised in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge high school. He also attended Cisco Junior College and Hardin Simmons. Rickey loved to hunt and fish as well as spending time with his grandchildren that lovingly called him “Pappy”. He was a western movie fan and enjoyed listening to music from country to the “Beach Boys”. Rickey truly loved his family and enjoyed life.

Rickey is survived by his wife Marsha of Albany, His mother Mary Nell Anders and husband Braxton of Ft. Worth; a son Rickey Fisher Jr. of Breckenridge; Daughter, Desa Allday and husband Mike of Breckenridge; Step-son’s Chad Bartee and girlfriend Leeann Michalak of Ft. Worth, and Kyle Bartee and wife Terra of Albany, Step-daughter; Stacy Abbate and husband Jim of Abilene; a brother, Joe Fisher and wife of Vicky of Breckenridge; two sisters, Tammy O’Conner of Albany and Joni Burkhart of Ft. Worth. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Denae and Brittany Fisher, Nicole Allday, Brennan, Brooklyn, and Braylyn Abbate, Kaisley Bartee, and Matthew and Jordan Fisher. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers, Tony Fisher and Randy Anders.
