Stella E. Boyll

Stella Elizabeth (Ellinger) Boyll passed away March 3, 2015 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Minter Lane Church of Christ, 2502 Minter Ln, Abilene, TX.

Born April 22, 1921 in Terre Haute, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ollie F. Ellinger and Loutrella (Acton) Ellinger. Stella graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute in 1939 and married Lloyd A. Boyll that same year. Lloyd was a Church of Christ minister and together they ministered in Sullivan, Indiana; Mentone, Indiana; Evanston, Illinois; Lafayette, Indiana; and Logansport, Indiana. When they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana Lloyd added teacher/school counselor to his resume and Stella continued her 26 year career at Sears which began in Lafayette. Upon retirement they moved to Abilene in 1996.

Stella is survived by her husband Lloyd A. Boyll of Abilene, sons David L. Boyll and wife Margie (Coker) Boyll of Abilene, and Leonard A. Boyll of Lafayette, Indiana, grandchildren, Elizabeth (Libby) Miller and husband Pete Miller of Little Elm, Texas and Kelli Grissom and husband Wade of Graham, Texas. Also surviving are great-grandchildren; Kailey Miller of Plainview, Texas, David Miller of Austin, Texas, Brandon Hopper of San Angelo, Texas, Corbin Benner and wife Tory of Eastland, Texas and several dearly loved nieces and nephews scattered around the U.S. Stella was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harrison, Max, and Leonard Ellinger and sisters Floris Huffman, Edith Asherman, and Margie (Tate) Byrer.

The family wants to thank their many friends and the church members at Minter Lane and Highland Church of Christ for their prayers and visits during Stella’s life.
