Linda Mariah Williams Lewis

Linda Mariah Williams Lewis, 87, joined her Savior Thursday, November 27, 2014. A celebration service will be held at 3:00p.m., Thursday, December 4, at the Piersall-Benton Chapel. Family visitation will follow.

Linda was born on July 24, 1927, to John and Blanche Williams in Clarksville, Delaware. She married her wartime sweetheart, Kenneth Lewis, on August 24, 1946. Linda was an attentive and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was deeply dedicated to serving her Highland Church of Christ family and community, volunteering over 20,000 hours at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Linda had good friends in all the places she called home…Ocean View, Delaware; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Nacogdoches, Texas; and for the last 17 years, Abilene, Texas.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister Hilda Williams; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include Ken, her husband of 68 years; their sons and wives, Brian and Gail Lewis of Delaware, Garrett and Melissa Lewis of North Carolina, Keith and Pat Lewis of Virginia, Mark and Gina Lewis of Abilene, Texas; her sister, Grace Hitchins of Delaware; her brother Harvey Williams of Virginia; 8 grandchildren, Sarah Lynn, Stephanie, Nathan, Chris, Andi, Casey, Patrick, and Matthew; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews in Delaware and Virginia; and many friends at University Place.
