Rodrigo Palma Pérez, 49, returned home on October 21, 2014, at 7:55 AM, surrounded and embraced by his family, who loved him dearly.
Rodrigo was born on March 13, 1965, in San Juanico, Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, to Margarito Palma Escalante and María Tomasa Pérez Cerroblanco. He attended school until the ninth grade when he married his first wife. Together they had seven children. To better provide for his family, Rodrigo came to the United States in 1985. He worked many jobs in a variety of fields, including agriculture, landscaping, and culinary. The distance between him and his family began to take a toll on his marriage, and eventually his wife decided to end their marriage. In 1994, Rodrigo ventured into a new trade and began roofing. This is also the time he met his wife Christine. He excelled in his new trade and, until October of 2013, was a very sought after roofer.
Rodrigo and Christine had ten children during their time together. He was a loving father and was adored by his children, who could always be heard calling out to him "Papi! Papi!" He had a love for music, fútbol (soccer), Chevy trucks, and nature. He made trips every year to visit his children in Mexico and looked forward to seeing his goats while there.
His new life began October 21, 2014, after a yearlong battle with stomach cancer. He was a valiant fighter and fought hard every second.
"Te queremos un mundo, y te extrañamos igual. Hasta que estemos reunidos con Dios, te esteremos extrañamos."
