Abren Valdez

Abren Valdez, 30, of Sanger, Texas, passed away in Fort Worth on July 22, 2014. A service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, July 28 at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. Burial will follow at the Abilene City Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be Sunday, July 27 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Abren was born on July 22, 1984 in Abilene to Andres Valdez and Consuelo Cortinez. He lived in Abilene until he was 13, and then moved with his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He spent the last 10 years in Fort Worth, working as a warehouseman and pursuing his passion, music. Abren loved to express himself through song, writing and performing music for anyone who would listen. He performed Chicano Rap and was in the process of recording his first album.

Left to cherish his memory are Abren's father, Andres Valdez of Fort Worth, his mother, Consuelo Carreno of Tulsa, Oklahoma, son, Abren Valdez II, daughter, Celestina Valdez of San Antonio, brother, Tony Perez, Jr. of Abilene and sisters; Olga Perez of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carrie Ann Perez of Dallas, DeAnn Valdez of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tina Valdez of Fort Worth as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elida Cortinez and cousin Jason Cortinez.
