Donald Ray Borton

Don Borton, 67 of Abilene, passed away peacefully at Hendrick Medical Center on May 26, 2014. A service is scheduled for 10:00am Thursday May 29, 2014 in the Piersall Chapel, 733 Butternut St with burial to follow at 3:00pm in Electra, Texas. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8pm in the funeral home.

Donald Ray Borton was born June 7, 1946 in Electra, Texas to William Bill and Beulah Christian Borton. He was raised in Electra and graduated from Harold High School. After graduation Don worked as a lineman for Texas Electric and then as a salesman for American National Life Insurance. In 1979, Don moved to Abilene where he owned his own business, Naturalite Stone. Until 2006, Don worked with his son at B-Statuary in Sweetwater. Don loved to fish and spend time with his family.

Preceding Don in death were his parents and a brother Jim Borton. Surviving him are his son Bryan Borton and wife Kristy Borton of Abilene, granddaughter Shelby Borton of Abilene, step grandson, Kayleb McKelvain of Ft Worth, two brothers; Bill Borton of Westminster, CO and Kenneth Borton of Holiday, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
