Rosa Amada Galvan

Rosa Amada Galvan, 81 of Abilene, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Winters, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 2:00 pm in the Piersall Funeral Directors chapel, 733 Butternut.

Rosa was born on January 8, 1933 in Vera Cruz, Mexico to Maria Elena Barcelata Portugal. A long time Abilene resident, Rosa worked for the Abilene State School for 25 years in the food service division and also worked for a number of families in Abilene cleaning houses. In her spare time, Rosa enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.

Rosa was preceded in death by her mother. Rosa is survived by her husband, Severo Galvan of Winters, son Ruben Galvan of Abilene, daughter Elvira Sims of Abilene, son Ralph Galvan of Abilene, and grandchildren Cameron King of Seattle, Washington, Breanna Sims of Abilene and Sarah Galvan of Abilene.
