Oran Clarence Gipson

Oran Clarence Gipson, 60, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Services will be Tuesday, May 27 at 2:00 pm at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2849 Beltway South. Interment will follow at the Cedar Gap Cemetery.

Oran was born in Abilene on April 5, 1954 to O.C. and Eilene Gipson. A master plumber by trade, Oran spent 30 years providing plumbing services to people in Texas and Tennessee. Oran also had a love for cars and playing music with his family and friends. He spent many hours building from scratch his dream car, a hot rod Model T.

Oran was preceded in death by his father, O.C. “Shorty” Gipson. Oran is survived by his mother, Eilene; two brothers, Wayne Gipson and wife Kay of Shallowater, Texas and Arley Gipson of Abilene; two sisters, Gale Rotan and husband George of Nolan, Texas and Patricia Farley and husband Hoss of Canyon, Texas; and a son, Gerald Gipson and wife Lea of Smyrna, Tennessee and a daughter, Shelia Gipson of LaVergne, Tennessee; four grandchildren Andrew, Mariah, Issac and Madison and best friend Rose Marie .
