Roni Lynn Curtis, 54 of Abilene, passed away December 30, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center. A service is scheduled for 2:00pm Monday, January 6, 2014 in the chapel at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St., with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Sunday from 3-5pm at the funeral home.
Born in San Diego, California on December 13, 1959, Roni was the daughter of Lou (Ratcliff) and William Earl Curtis. The family moved to Abilene in 1976. Roni attended Abilene High School and has always been an avid Eagle fan.
Roni had recently retired from Abilene State Supported Living Center where she worked for 29 years. Here she had many friends; staff and residents, who loved her and appreciated her dedication and hard work.
She was preceded in death by her father and survived by her mother, Lou Curtis and daughter Whitney Earlene Curtis both of Abilene, two brothers; William Dean Curtis and wife Dana of Alvarado, Texas and James Kevin Curtis and wife Debbie of Olden, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews. Roni was dearly loved and will be missed by many friends, neighbors and family.
