Carl Wayne Davis

Carl Wayne Davis, 76, passed away peacefully to go to our Lord in Heaven on Saturday, October 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will include a Graveside Service in Westover, Texas and Visitation in Abilene. Visitation is Wednesday, October 30, 7-8:30 pm at the Piersall Benton Funeral Home, 733 Butternut Street in Abilene. Graveside Service is at Westover Cemetery on Thursday, October 31 at 2:30pm in Westover, Texas for friends and family.

Carl Wayne was born December 9, 1936 in Seymour, Texas, the son of the late Hughie and Lorene Davis. He moved to Abilene in 1955 and was a member of the Assembly of God church. Carl Wayne married Mary Maxine Ward, July 1, 1957 and together raised six sons. He enjoyed electronics and was self-employed owning an electronics shop repairing radios and televisions for customers in Abilene.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, four sisters, one sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include his wife, Mary Maxine of Abilene, sons; Steven Davis of Abilene, David and Jan Davis of Abilene, Phillip and Rhonda Davis of Cleburne, Sammy and Karen Davis of Clute, Andy and Cristi Davis of Abilene, and Michael and Kathy Davis of San Antonio.


Survivors also include his sister, Mary Lyon and husband, Floyd of Mineral Wells, brother, Jr. Davis and wife Sara Jo of Artesia, New Mexico, brother, Joe Davis of Irving, and brother-in-law Albert Hoes of Fort Worth, 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
