Sarah Ruth Woodruff

Sarah Ruth Woodruff, 80, died at Windcrest Alzheimer’s Care Center Thursday May 15, 2008. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday May 20th at Resthaven Cemetery in Nashville, Arkansas at 3:30 pm. Services are under the direction of Piersall Benton Funeral Directors in Abilene, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Nashville Funeral Home in Nashville, Arkansas.

Sarah was born December 11, 1927 in Nashville, Arkansas to James and Margaret Sullivan. She attended school in Nashville and then Abilene Christian College. She married William L. Woodruff in Hope Arkansas on August 4th, 1951. Sarah was a member of Sunset Church of Christ in Nashville until she moved to Abilene in 2002 and joined the South 11th and Willis Church of Christ.

And her children shall rise up and call her blessed….

Sarah is survived by four daughters: Patricia McDaniel and husband Marc of Abilene, Sandy Biggers and husband Vernon.of Marietta Georgia, Debra McCoy and husband Brad of Graham, Texas and Linda Davis and husband Danny of Rankin, Texas; a Son, Bill Woodruff and wife Fran of Marietta, Georgia and a brother James Sullivan of Nashville. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William and two grandsons Danny Blake Davis, Jr. and Grant William Hinds.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Windcrest and the Sears Methodist Hospice for their kindness and special care given to their mother. Memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Woodruff to the Alzheimer’s Association, 301 S Pioneer Dr # 105, Abilene, 79605.
