Albert "Sonny" Odell Mize, Jr.

Albert "Sonny" Mize, Jr., 64 of Abilene, passed away at a local medical center on Friday August 16, 2013. A service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday August 19, 2013 at the Piersall Benton Chapel, 733 Butternut St with a burial to follow at the Hawley Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held on Sunday evening from 6-7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Albert was born on Christmas Day 1948 in Stamford, Texas to Bea and Odell Mize, he was a twin. He attended Anson Schools and then went to work in the oil field where he made many lifelong friends. Sonny never met a stranger and he truly loved everyone.

Sonny loved to fish and spent lots of his time at his sister's pond catching catfish. He cared greatly for his family and a special love for his nieces and nephews.

Surviving Albert are his sisters; Linda Brown and husband Dennis and Eva Sellers and husband Johnny, special friend Barbara Gladden, nieces; Misty and Nathan Reagan and Mindy and Chad Shadden and nephews, Cody and Kelly Brown and Cory and Heather Brown as well as many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
