Mary Frances Kelso

July 24, 1930 — June 8, 2013

Mary Frances Kelso, 82 of Abilene, passed away Saturday June 8, 2013 at her home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Anson. No visitation is scheduled.

Mary was born July 24, 1930 in Abilene, Texas to Horace Morgan and Willie Frances Crain Kelso. She was raised on the family farm in Jones County and graduated from Hawley High School. After graduation she spent some time working in Abilene at the Reporter News and for Dr. Story at the Meadows Clinic. She ultimately ended up living in Irving and working in Dallas working at Parkland Hospital for over 30 years as an administrative assistant in Pathology.

After retiring Mary spent a number of years traveling around the United States on bus tours. She loved visiting new places and meeting new people. She was a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving and was very involved with her class and supper club from church. A few years ago Mary moved from Irving to Abilene to be closer to her sister.

Surviving Mary are her brothers; Donald Ray Kelso and wife Paula of Waxahachie, TX and Jerry Mack Kelso and wife Patsy of Covington, TX, a sister Betty Sue Allred of Abilene and many beloved nieces and nephews who affectionately called her "Auntie". In addition, she is survived by special friends Ann Leclaire, Jessie Lay and Virginia Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Kenneth Wayne Kelso and Kyle Morgan Kelso.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Patel and Dr. Pagan for their wonderful care of Mary over her last several years here in Abilene.
