Carolyn Maria Foster

Carolyn Maria Foster, 59 of Abilene, passed away at her home on Wednesday May the 8th, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 10 AM on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Abilene with David Crumpton officiating. Local arrangements were handled by Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St.

Carolyn was born on June 13, 1953 in Boone, Iowa to Charles Slater III and Eloise Heitkamp Slater. She was a graduate of Greenville, Tx High School. She married David Foster in Canon City, Colorado in July of 1971. They had one son Robert Foster.

In 1984, Carolyn moved to Abilene where she earned her LVN license at Cisco Jr. College and was able to use her nursing skills at many different local care facilities in addition to volunteering at the Red Cross. After retirement Carolyn was a volunteer at Rose Park Senior Center where she helped crochet baby articles for the Noah Project and assist with ceramics classes. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Abilene.

Surviving Carolyn are her son Robert Foster, mother Eloise Slater, sister, Jeannie Nordland all of Abilene, as well as her ex-husband David Foster of Colorado and many other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Eugene Slater, III.
