Lora Lynn Henslee

Lora Lynn Henslee, 47, died at Hendrick Medical Center Tuesday March 25th, 2008. Funeral services will be held at the Potosi Baptist Church, at 10:00 am Friday, March 28th with Bro. Jim McCurley officiating under the direction of Piersall-Benton Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at the Potosi Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church after the burial.

Lora was born in Roswell, NM on June 26th, 1960 to Fred Maddux and Sue Keith Maddux. The family quickly made their way to Abilene where Lora spent much of her childhood. She was married on August 14th, 1981 at her grandmother’s home in Wimberley, Texas to husband and best friend Allen Henslee. Allen and Lora moved to Abilene 18 years ago to be near family and raise their son Marcus.

Lora was a member of Potosi Baptist Church and an avid quilter and member of the “Potosi Quilters”. Even though her health didn’t permit her to do many things, she used her quilt making talent to make others happy.
A loving wife and mother Lora is survived by her Husband; Allen “Bubba” Henslee, Son; Marcus Henslee, Mother; Sue Brown, Brother and Sister-in-law Dwayne and Sandra Brown, and Aunt Juanita Rodgers, all of Abilene. She was preceded in death by her step father Jim Brown and her grandparents.
