Pereniss “Dot” Dry, 94, of Abilene passed away at a local medical center on April 26, 2013. A visitation with the family will be held on Monday, April 29, 6-8pm at the Piersall-Benton Funeral Directors 733 Butternut Street with a service to be held on Tuesday, April 30th in the Piersall Chapel, at 1:00pm and burial to follow in the Northview Cemetery in Winters, Texas.
Dot was born to Elbert and Callie Bryant in Pike County, Kentucky. She lived in Abilene for 70 years. She was a lifetime member of the Lady’s Auxiliary VFW. She was an avid fisherwoman, a great quilter and made quilts for all the family. She loved to play Wahoo!!! . Dot was known as the “mayor” of South 15th Street. She loved to minister to the sick and spent her life as a housewife. She will be greatly missed by her family, her neighbors and her many friends.
Dot is survived by her daughters Norma Bryant and husband Don of Royse City, Kay Whelchel and Robert Weston of Merkel, a sister Myrtle Venters of Jenkins, Kentucky, Grandchildren; Cindy Vest of Rockwall, Tammy Calhoun of Big Spring, Carey Bryant of Royse City, Teena Figuroea of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tanja Miller of Abilene, Shane Duncan, of Abilene and Kayla Dry, San Angelo, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William H. Dry, a son, Blue Dry, a granddaughter, Christy K. Bryant, 5 Brothers and 3 sisters.
