Our Lord and Savior called one of His earthly angels home. Angelina “Angie” Flores Valdez, 65, passed from this life to enter into God’s heavenly kingdom Sunday, March 24, 2013. Angie was born on October 31, 1947 to Sarah and Emilio Flores Sr. in Abilene, Texas. She will forever be missed and treasured. Angie had a truly giving and generous heart. She loved her God and her family. Angie was the backbone of our family, “Gramm” to her grandchildren and “Granny” to her great-grandchildren. She was enjoying her part-time retirement by spending quality time with her great-grandchildren on their Friday day outs. Angie will always and forever be in our hearts and minds.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the South Pointe Church, 3050 Buffalo Gap Rd., with Trace Michaels officiating. Burial will follow in the Abilene City Cemetery directed by Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Sarah and Emilio Flores Sr.; a sister, Erlinda Santibanez; two brothers; Jack and Everardo Flores; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Rodela.
Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Jacque and Fabian Benivamondez and Stephanie and Brian Martin; her beloved grandchildren, Fabian Jr. (Alyssa) Benivamondez, Jessica (Jared) Conway, Meagan (Brian) Garcia, Lexi, Logan, and Lane Martin; her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Lyndsey, Scarlett, and Bryley; and a very special longtime friend, Lyle Stephens and his son, Chris. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
