Clayton Ray Powers

December 10, 1986 — December 24, 2012

Clayton Ray “Tater” Powers, 26 of Abilene, passed away December 24, 2012 at Hendrick Medical Center. A service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday December 27, 2012 at the Piersall Benton Chapel with burial to follow at the Hamby Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening December 26, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St.

Clayton was born in Abilene, Texas on December 10, 1986 to Marvin Powers and Twylia Powers Waldon. He was raised in Hamby and Clyde and attended Clyde High School. Clayton loved sports growing up and was a great baseball and football player. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hiking.

There was always something Clayton was working on, either one of his jobs or just helping one of his many friends. His two children, Cadee and Clayton “Bus” Jr., were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving Clayton are his parents; Marvin Powers, Sr. and wife Penny and Twylia Waldon and husband Harrel, a son, Clayton "Bus" Powers, Jr., a daughter, Cadee Powers, a brother, Marvin Powers Jr., a sister, Jessica (Matt) Alexander, grandmothers; Barbara Druesedow and Mary Sue Riskus, uncles; Bobby (Denise) Druesedow, Jay (Kathy) Druesedow, Rick Lott and Tommy (Kathy) Chapman and an aunt Nona Dodgen as well as many other extended family members.
