Jason Wayne Hyatt, 38 of Abilene, passed away Tuesday December 11th, 2012. A service is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Highland Church of Christ on Sunday December 16th. A visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5-7 pm at Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. Burial will be in Seguin, TX on Monday at 2:00 pm in the San Geronimo Cemetery on E. Walnut Street.


Jason Wayne Hyatt was born on October 7, 1974 in Seguin, Texas to Douglas Ray Hyatt and Vickie C. Dear. He was raised in Seguin and graduated from Seguin High School. Jason's passion for cooking led him to become a sous-chef at Copper Creek fulfilling a desire to provide culinary joy for many people. Jason loved spending time with his youngest son Clifton, his wife, Randi and his beloved church family at Highland Church of Christ and Freedom Fellowship. Jason was committed to spreading the message of the love of Jesus Christ and how it relates to recovery of addictions and other hurts, habits and hang-ups. There were many times that Jason was able to use his "Testimony of Faith" to make an impact in the lives of others. Jason's sense of humor and antics gave family and friends much joy and laughter. His love of others and his extra large heart made him well loved and he will be missed by many.


Survivors include his wife Randi, his children, Clifton Wayne, Alexis Marie, and Coby Wayne; his mother, Vickie Dear; his father, Doug Hyatt and wife, Donna, his grandmothers, Doris Haas and Ruth McFadden; three brothers Bobby Hyatt and wife Alesia, Willie Hyatt and wife Cathy, and James Dear and wife Tracy; and sister Jennifer Dear, as well as nine nieces and nephews and a host of other extended family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jack Dear, and grandfathers, Clifton E. Haas and Wayne E. McFadden.
