Cheryl Denise Roach, 56 of Abilene, passed away at her home on December 6, 2012. A service is scheduled for 1:30 pm Monday, December 10, 2012 at First Central Presbyterian with a burial to follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A visitation with the family will be held Sunday from 3-5 pm at the funeral home.
Cheryl was born December 4, 1956 in Abilene, TX to George Edward Black, Jr. and Carol Ann Nance Black. She attended Abilene Schools and graduated from Cooper High School. She married Ralph Roach on December 9, 1980 in Abilene and they had nearly 32 wonderful years together. Cheryl was an aid at Madison Middle School and an active member of First Central Presbyterian. She also truly enjoyed the friends that she created through her involvement with Bible Study Fellowship.
Surviving Cheryl are her husband, Ralph, her parents, Carol Ann Black and Step Father John Paul Black, a son Jonathan Roach and wife Kristy, a sister, Carolyn Newton and husband Larry of Baird, and two brothers; George Edward Black III and wife Sue of Abilene and Marion Steven Black of Clyde. Cheryl was a loving daughter, wife, mother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
