Samuel "Sam" Appleton Martell
At age 26, loving son of Melvin and Mary Martell, Samuel "Sam" passed away on November 23, 2012, at Abilene Regional Medical Center.

Sam was raised in Abilene and graduated from Cooper High School in 2004. He was electronically minded and had a keen ability for repairing computers. Since high school, Sam acquired numerous computer and networking certifications which he used to develop his own business.

Sam had a passion for a challenging chess game, playing guitar and music, watching NBA and NFL games, and spending time with his friends. Recently, after helping family, he had an opportunity to explore the Oregon coast which he truly enjoyed. We will always remember his sweet smile, and his loving and caring personality.

Along with his parents, Sam is survived by his maternal grandmother, Pauline Martell and two sisters, Valerie (Meirose) Armstrong and husband Paul of Auburn, AL and Melanie Martell of Austin, TX, and many very special aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2012 from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at Piersall Benton Funeral Home, 733 Butternut St. A "Celebration of Sam" will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
