Richard "Chivo" Moreno

Richard Moreno,"Chivo", 35, went to be with the Lord on September 21st at Hendricks Hospital surrounded by his loving family. There will be a wake and Rosary on Sunday, September 23rd at 7 pm at the Piersall Funeral home, 733 Butternut Street conducted by Deacon Marc. The funeral service will be Monday the 24th at St. Francis Catholic Church at 10:00 am followed by burial at ODD Fellows Cemetery on Cottonwood.


He leaves behind his children Sarina and Richard Jr. and step daughter Thalia Dudley. He is survived by his mother Rosalinda Moreno, a sister Kristina Garcia and his loving grandparents Simon and Estela Moreno. He is also survived by his father Raul Loya and step mother Mary Loya, step sister Debra A. Loya Diaz and his step brother "Baby brother" Richard Michael Ortiz all from Brownsville, Texas. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews , and nieces as well as his special aunt Eva, all from Abilene.


Richard attended Abilene High School and had worked on the oil rigs in Moran. He enjoyed leisure time with his friends and family and was a very joyous and loving person. Pallbearers will be Lupe Moreno Jr., Josue and Moses Gomez, Joseph and Leo Monsivais, Mario and Mark Moncivaiz.
