Luther Paul Stucker, 79, of Abilene passed away on September 20th, 2012. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 23rd from 3-5pm at the Piersall Funeral home, 733 Butternut Street. There will be a graveside service at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, September 24th at 3:00 pm with full military honors.
Luther was born in Brownfield, Texas to Jesse and Winnie Stucker on June 7, 1933. He left home at an early age and joined the rodeo. At seventeen he asked his mom to sign the papers to allow him to join the military and once she did he spent the next twenty years serving his country in the United States Air Force.
Preceding Luther in death were his parents, three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by four sons; Bruce Stucker and wife Charlotte, James Stucker and wife Shelia and Lee Stucker and wife Luci, and Bill Stucker, a brother Jesse Stucker, five grandchildren; Bryan, Michelle, Michael, Chris and Adam and seven great grandchildren with two more on the way.
