ABILENE: Charles “CC” Junior Cole, 76, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at a local medical facility. A visitation with his family is schedule for 5 to 7pm Tuesday June 19, 2012, at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut, Abilene. A private graveside service will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery in Graham.

CC was born in Young County at the family home on September 21, 1935, to Jesse Lee and Ethel Simpson Cole.

CC met Frances Geraldine Bowtwell and they married on July 11, 1955. They moved to Abilene in 1966 to raise their family of four children.

In 1955, CC went to work in the oilfield as a truck driver. His specialty was moving drilling rigs from one location to another. CC spent a total of 42 years in the oil field and in 1997, CC retired to spend time with Frances and enjoy his grandchildren.

When CC was not working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing; later in life he developed a passion for historical Texas locations, often searching for remote and out- of- the- way road side markers.

Charles is survived by wife Frances Geraldine Cole of Abilene; two sons Don Cole and wife Lesha of Abilene, Tommy Cole and wife Paula of Abilene; two daughters Frances Charlene Arledge and husband West of Midland, and Lynn Cole of Abilene; two brothers Frank Cole of Lawn and Kenneth Cole of Seguin; and a sister Joyce Ary of Trinidad; he is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Shaunel Cole, and a grandson Jonathan Arledge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrous Foundation ,in the name of his grandson Jonathan Arledge, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd floor, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
