Bernard Dwayne Nebhut, Jr., 66 of Abilene, passed away at his home on December 1, 2011. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery under the direction of Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St.
Dwayne was born September 1, 1945 to Bernard and Dorothy Nebhut in Phoenix, Arizona. He was raised in Morton, Texas and graduated from Plains High School. He married Karen Sue Jewell in 1969 and shortly after, they moved to Abilene where Dwayne became the owner of Floyds Body Shop which ultimately became Auto Craft. After Karen passed away nearly twenty years ago, Dwayne focused most of his attention on drag racing. He loved spending time working on and racing his cars. During his time at the track he developed many great friendships.
Surviving Dwayne is his son Kevin Nebhut of Round Rock, TX as well as several other extended family members and many close friends from racing. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Karen.
