Jimmy Jay Dugger, 56 of Abilene, passed away Friday November 4th, 2011 at a local medical center. A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 3:00 pm Monday, November 7th at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home from 4-6pm today, Sunday the 6th.
Jimmy was born on January 24, 1955 to Vida Jackson Dugger in Fort Worth, Texas. He was raised in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School. In 1975 Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Army and faithfully served his country. After his time in the Army Jimmy worked at many different companies using his mechanical skills. Jimmy loved his family and was a blessing to those who knew him.
Surviving Jimmy is his ex-wife and caregiver Pam Dugger of Abilene, a daughter, Michele Dugger, a son, John Wayne Dugger, a grandson Eric Dugger, a sister Kandi Hyer and her husband Eddie, his nephews Chris, Cary, and Kelly as well as a niece Sierra. In addition, he is survived by his aunt "Tex" Jackson and many other extended family members and close friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Vida Dugger an uncle Robert Jackson and two infant sisters.
