Jimmy D. "J.D." Nichols, 75 of Abilene, passed away October 30th, 2011 at a local medical center. A graveside service will be held Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Wolf Valley Cemetery in Brown County under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born in May, Texas on November 23rd, 1935 to Carl Byron "C.B." and Rose Bowden Nichols. He was raised in Rising Star and graduated from Rising Star High School. In 1965 he married the love of his life, Barbara Callaway in Abilene. Together they raised two daughters. Jimmy was incredibly gifted with fixing electronics and did that for several companies in Abilene. His last several years were spent in maintenance at Abilene State Supported Living Center. Jimmy truly enjoyed the friendships that he developed over the years, while pursuing his lifelong hobby as a Ham Radio operator.

Surviving Jimmy is his wife Barbara, two daughters; Danette Dunlap (Lloyd Jorgenson) and Deana Nichols, three grandchildren; Jamie and Daniel Dunlap and Kristina Nichols, and a brother Larry Nichols and his wife Linda. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, CB Nichols, Jr.
