Kimberly "Kim" Johnson

May 28, 1959 — September 16, 2011

Kimberly "Kim" Johnson, 52, of Abilene passed away on September 16th, at a local medical center. Services will be held Thursday, September 22nd, at 2:00pm at the Piersall Funeral Home Chapel, 733 Butternut Street in Abilene with burial to follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 21st 5-7 pm at the funeral home.


Kim was born in Derry, New Hampshire on May 28, 1959 to Beecher and Jean Hamlett. Kim was a 1977 graduate of Abilene High School and a 1979 graduate of TSTC as an LVN. Kim worked at the Abilene State Supported Living Center, Locust Elementary, Hendrick Medical Center and other retirement centers. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Kim loved gardening, caring for children, cake decorating, and helping others in need. She had an amazing sense of humor and the ability to attract people of all walks of life and gain respect and love for her natural love for others.


She was preceded in death by her mother and father. Kim is survived by her husband Miller A. Johnson of Abilene, a sister Denae Wood and husband David Wood, MD of Memphis, Tennessee, a brother, Douglas Diener of Abilene, a mother in law and father in law Barbara Jean and Howard Oglesby of Gainesville, Georgia. She is also survived by close friends Debbie Diener, Susan Hash, and Kathy Langham as well as other extended family members and friends.
