Loretta Boyd

Loretta A. Boyd, 55, of Abilene, passed away at a local medical center on September 13, 2011. A service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 21st in the Piersall Funeral Directors Chapel 733 Butternut Street, Abilene, Texas with a time of visitation to follow.


Loretta was born on March 1, 1956 to Doris and Johnnie Reynolds. She was raised in Merkel and lived in the Abilene area until 1978 when Loretta married Kevin Boyd. Shortly after their marriage Loretta and Kevin were stationed overseas. Over her husband's 21 year Air Force career, Loretta and her family spent several years in England and in North Dakota. She was a devoted wife and friend and she loved her children dearly. When it came time to retire in 1995, Kevin and Loretta moved back to Abilene.


Preceding Loretta in death was her father Doris. She is survived by her husband Kevin, a son John McSwain, two daughters, Bernice Marie Zeno and Nicole A. Boyd, her mother Johnnie, two brothers Richard Schultz and David Schultz and wife Melissa and two sisters, Rhonda Hill and Becky Gann.
