Mary Ann Burk

Mary Ann Burk, 72, of Abilene passed away June 27, 2007 in an Abilene Nursing Center. Ms. Burk was born November 30th 1934 in Syracuse, New York to James Boland and Eva Souva. She lived in Irving, Texas for a number of years until moving to Abilene in 1999 to be closer to her two daughters and their families.

Ms. Burk spent time as a Navy radio operator but had a career as an Accountant. She loved bowling and darts but also enjoyed her time volunteering as a scout leader. Mary was preceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by; a son Charles Douglas Huffmaster of Oklahoma; three daughters, Laura Huffmaster Rahn of Houston, Jackie Huffmaster Prescar of Abilene and Bonnie Huffmaster Weber of Abilene; Sisters, Katherine and Patty Boland of New York as well 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday June 30th, 2007 at 11:00 am at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at Piersall-Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.pbfuneraldirectors.com.

The family would like to thank the staff at Northern Oaks Nursing Home as well as Hendrick Hospice for their wonderful care. Mom is now “OK FINE”.
