Ronald Duane Roberts

Ronald Duane Roberts, age 63, passed away in Abilene, Texas on June 30, 2011. A service is scheduled for 9 a.m., Monday, July 4th, at the State Veterans Cemetery at 7457 W. Lake Rd., Abilene, Texas. Arrangements are being made by Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Ronny was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on July 10, 1947, to Lewis and (Margaret) Wyverne Roberts. He graduated from high school in Perryton, Texas in 1965. He served in the US Army from 1967-1971, including a tour in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged. He married Jo Kay Maubach in Arlington, Virginia in 1970.
He was employed in retail business management for 26 years. Ron worked in the security field since moving to Abilene in 1998.
Ronny is survived by his wife, Jo, a daughter, Michelle L. Roberts of Oklahoma City, a brother Larry and family of Rolla, Missouri, and a mother-in-law, Doris L. Maubach and family of Pontiac, Illinois. In addition, he will be greatly missed by his friends and co-workers. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and his father in law, Joseph Maubach, and a niece, Angie Roberts.
